Project Notes

Hello, The Gentlemen Crafters design team is back this month and here with your monthly inspiration. As a reminder the hop itself unlike most are not going to be based on a theme or a stamp set, we simply want to inspire you by sharing what we love — Stampin’ Up! products. We hope you enjoy our inspiration this month. At the end, you will find the full lineup to help you hop along from each of the design team members.

Simple Color Combination

The color palette for the Fine Art Floral Suite (155982) is simply stunning. So many colors were used to bring the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (154558) to life. Did you know Stampin’ Up! had an artist hand-paint canvases with beautiful florals and textures in classic Stampin’ Up! colors? They then took those canvases, photographed them, and made them into this unique designer series paper. Your heart will grow wild when you get this paper in your hands. The pack includes florals, patterns, color variance, and all the touches of professional paintings.

When designing this card, swatches were created using colors from the Designer Series Paper. But nothing that I had created was working for me. I wanted a clean and simple combination of color; a limited color pallete. After a small break from the project, I remembered seeing the Boho Indigo Product Medley (153132) in the annual catalog and remembered falling in the love with the colors in the kit.

From there, Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight would be my primary colors with a tad of Smoky Slate added. The product medley and the Fine Art Floral Suite uses gold throughout, so why not added that into mix.

To do this my floral piece needed a backdrop that was just as gorgeous; so, the Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate was used to bring in the gold element into the card. Gold Metallic Trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack was added to create a “messy nest” to make the floral image pop off the white die-cut a little more.
